I get a dog, but I can not find one in my area?

I get a warning of diabetes / service dog for diabetes type 1 but I can not find any adoptions or anything in my area (east coast perferably the north coast to the east as CT or Mass or anywhere up there, but not too far away as northern Maine or cause PATH Canada and I have a passport and neither does the rest of my family) I really want one and my dad said that maybe I could get one if I raised enough money, "but it all depends on my mother, so if I could get a link or something, that's great.
