Agility Dog Training - a true test of your dog's agility and intelligence
Dog agility training made its debut in Britain in 1977 inspired by the timed cross-country and stadium jumping equestrian combined training events. Sport is an inspiring team of a dog and its handler negotiating an obstacle course. The trainer gives commands while the dog quickly manipulates his way around the jumps, tunnels, dog walks, swings, A frame and weave poles.
Contests are judged on time and the dog's ability to clear obstacles. Although the sport is mostly loved by competitors is also a pleasure for viewers.
Dog Agility Competition training is a serious and well organized sport with many guidelines and regulations. Both divisions in the contest is based on the size of the dog. A dog between sixteen and twenty inches from the shoulder is placed in the mini division.
Competitors in the 'mini' division are required to complete the courses with jump heights being twelve inches, eighteen inches inches and twenty-four. The Dogs measuring about blackjack inches at the shoulders compete in the "open" division and are forced to go twenty-six, twenty-eight and thirty centimeters. Competitors must be measured by a judge in dog agility approved before the competition.
Before beginning training, the growth plates of the dog must be closed to avoid injury. Growth plates close around nine months old. At this time the animal may begin dog agility training and be ready for competition when it is able to clear the high jump in his division.
How to start training dogs at dog agility?
The first step in Dog competitive race is the 'starter' division, this division is reserved for dogs that have not yet agility titles. After the dog has a clean lap to win his "owner" of the title. With this title the dog is qualified to compete at the advanced level. the dog to win an 'advanced' Title 'success must clear three rounds judged by two different judges.
At this time the dog is eligible to compete in the "master classes". For the dog to win a title "master" who must successfully complete a six-party process of qualification. This process includes classes versatility with three rounds of cleaning by two different judges. The "masters" title also successfully completed three courses required on qualifying games with scores of two judges.
Not all dogs can be a 'Master', but it sure is fun trying. Training Dog agility is a fun and challenging sport enjoyed by many people across the country, but none of them is almost as fun as the dogs.
