dog aspirin dosing
My dog was just castrated and sent home without medication, "I can give a small dose of aspirin and Benadryl?

I already called the vet and he asked if they were supposed to give me something to him, but said no. Two other veterans said they see after the weekend and give him something, but he is suffering now and just move the couch. His appetite is fine, as long as you bring to it. I can not even get out into the street to go to the bathroom. He wants to lick a lot and that place is a bit restless. He is a great laboratory 72 pounds and about 2 years old. It was Tuesday night and today is Saturday already.

After four days, he should be back to normal. You should ask your veterinarian to see if the site is infected and needs antibiotics. Do not let them lick it! That's what causes infection, and could easily reopen the incision site. Take a good luck at this site and see if there is redness, discharge or swelling. If so get the vet. I would not recommend giving aspirin as it promotes bleeding, not something you want in a surgical case. Benadryl is an antihistamine, so it would be of little use for this. Tylenol, ibuprofen and naproxen are very toxic to dogs, do not give them.
