Dog anxiety and destruction of the cage?
My Rotti 75 lbs / Sheppard cross has severe anxiety when left alone. He has literally exploded out of two metal cages and we are afraid it will hurt. We can not let go free because it will destroy the house, but we can not crate him because he barks all the time and destroy the cage. If anyone has any advice or know of a dog crate is virtually indestructible with dogs please let me know.
First, try to fix the anxiety before the box set. couple of suggestions to help with separation anxiety: - Do not make a big deal of saying goodbye and hello: When need crate your dog, because you're leaving the house, doing a great thing to leave. I know from experience that its hard to resist pampered, but you have to:. - Second, give the dog something to do with the box Take a Kong ball, mix a little peanut butter and dry Dog Food together, and place inside the ball Kong. Put the kong in the freezer overnight. Then give your puppy when packed, will help pass the time for him, and he's going to be gum. Ok, now for the security you need to get a plastic box. They make the big plastic companies / boxes for dogs up to 150 pounds. This cage should be able to handle their frustrations dogs, and if he will go through the bending of the door and not get hurt. A second idea would be the choice a room in the house and keep it there when you're gone. This will get rid of the worry of hurting himself in a cage, but that room would be destroyed.
