If you buy clothing under $ 150 do not have to label it as animal skins or what, does that bother you?
I was surfing the net and found an article on animal skins that need not be labeled. They said that the fur product labeling is not required by law. (The article says that some congressmen and women are trying to change that right now in a bill called HR 891.) They said that even in the U.S., the skins of cats and dogs are sold as fur trim despite federal law to the contrary. A quote: "In 2000 the U.S. banned the import of domestic dog fur and cat. However, each year more than two million dogs and cats are slaughtered for the fur trade. And articles made of cats and dogs are making their way into the U.S. market, often imported I have seen ...." jackets, coats and scarves that look much like real fur to me. (I've had dogs and cats - seems very similar to your skin.) It's amazing (and sickening) me to think that the skins could have slipped through the processes governing import. What do you think?
That's why I will not buy or use anything that looks like skin. For the reason you mentioned also that do not want others looking at me thinking I'm wearing fur. The fake material looks quite real - Too real. I think the only people who wear fur should be the animals.
