Troubleshooting the dogs ear?
Our golden retriever 7yo infections worse really (I think the yeast, if I remember correctly) in the ear and underwent surgery twice, but does not stop coming back. We tried changing his food, and the vet said it would end only, but his ears are smaller. This is actually the 4th time it's happened so your ear is already lower. What else can you do besides surgery change of their food, and wait for it to go away only?
I would recommend you find a veterinarian who specializes in ear problems or one that specializes in allergies and infections. I say this because it is not good for your dog to have repeated infections and if not already deaf in that ear, it will. In addition, infections tend to travel for the overall health of your dog may be at risk. At 7 years old, I am sure you will not want to have repeated surgeries and surgery is dangerous to start older and becomes more risky. Find a specialist!
