Dog Crate Training - How to crate train the dog rescue Adults
When it comes to crate training dogs, puppies are by far the easiest to train, because they are young to learn and adapt faster. Sometimes it is necessary to train an adult dog to use a box. Most times these are adult dogs that have been rescued from a shelter and have never learned the difference between indoor and outdoor when it comes to relieving themselves.
NOTE: Not all dogs can be trained drawer, and some will be frightened and might be injured.
When is a crisis and have time to devote to the process most dogs can be trained drawer. To start this process you want to leave the cage door open, possibly put in some padding (If the dog is not a chewer). With the door open, start giving your dog some treats, let them have some meals in there too, anything to assure you that this is a happy place. Stay in the room for now and the comfort level is there, then you can begin to leave the room ... again ... BRIEFLY to start. Once this level of comfort is good to extend the deadlines that have gone up to the time period required.
As you can see when crate training dogs especially if an adult has to be patient and understanding, you do not want to push the animal, or it may end up doing more harm than good. In the case of a box that simply will not work, you may want to try a small area in the kitchen were treated using baby gates.
