The Shih Tzu Standard
The Shih Tzu is a toy dog of small stature and big heart. This adorable dog is often a pampered member of the family, if you own a Shih Tzu you will understand the love they feel for their owners!
If you want to show your beautiful, purebred Shih Tzu in competitions of any level then will have to familiarize himself with the rules and requirements.
The American Kennel Club has clearly defined guidelines as to what type physical attributes of your Shih Tzu will have to exhibit.
If you want to show, race or just interested in learning about the breed Shih Tzu, then here are some things you can do. Ask your breeder, veterinarian, using the Internet and learn everything you can about the Shih Tzu.

Appearance:
The Shih Tzu is robust and lively with a long flowing double coat. A bearing of pride and a clearly arrogant head is usually the case and a curved tail that rests on the back.

Size, Proportion, Substance
