Breed or mixed breed dog?

Which is better? mixed breed or purebred? It is always a question that is sure to start a discussion. Both types of dogs have their dedicated followers who are willing to jump up and defend their beloved companions.

The truth is that both types of dogs make great pets.

People who love the mongrel dogs will tell you that when you adopt a mixed breed dog that is saving a life. It is true that some 3.7 million animals are killed in shelters in the United States each year. Many people get great personal satisfaction to feel that having saved a dog and be given a life wonderful.

Adopted mixed breed dogs tend to live a long life compared with most purebred dogs. They live shorter lives that toy and small breed dogs purebred, but his hopes of life are about the same or a little longer than purebred dogs medium sized businesses. If you look at the dogs that compete in agility you'll notice that there are plenty of both mixed breeds and pure-bred competitors. The same is true of almost any competition partner. Both mixed breeds and purebreds learn obedience, compete in flyball, and both can excel in rally competitions.

If you plan to hunt or herd with your dog, or take part in a specialized and earthdog events or sled you may need to find a dog breed that has specialized instincts that effort. If the titles of the competition and are important to you then you will probably need breed a dog unless it is a sport where performance is more important than the pedigree. In the Iditarod, for example, nobody cares what kind of dogs have, as long as you get through the finish line first.
