The care of dogs with hypoallergenic conditions
Some dog breeds are more susceptible to allergies than others. This may be due to small nasal passages, allergic reactions to flea bites, irritable stomach, making it difficult to digest food, or may be allergic to your own hair and dandruff. Dogs that have allergies include the following races: Bishonen Frise, terrier, retrievers, beagles, setters, and boxers. All dogs have the potential be allergic to something, however.
The most common signs of allergies include raw skin where the dog has scratched, patches of missing hair, redness of the skin, hives, coughing, sneezing, excessive chewing and licking the paws, watery eyes, vomiting and diarrhea. While these symptoms may disappear after a few days should monitor the behavior of your dog to see if symptoms recur. If they do, then you should take your dog to see a vet. Sometimes changing the type of food Dog or buy a flea collar or spray is enough to help eliminate allergy problems of your dog.
When a dog is suffering from allergies, your state mood may change. They can become irritable, lethargic, sticky, or angry. Discipline does not work when the dog has allergy problems. The best way to combat this problem is to learn how to care for your dog once you have isolated the cause of allergies. This may mean keeping a diary of your dog's activities and symptoms you can show the vet, who will be able to recommend treatment.
Some smaller breeds can have breathing problems as they age, there is little they can do except keep your bedroom clean, vacuum often, and consider buying a HEPA filter to trap dust particles and other air pollutants which are in the air. While it is important that all dogs get their exercise, when it's cold outside, keep in small breeds and play with them. This prevents them from getting colds, which can make breathing worse.
If you notice your dog has fleas or been bitten by fleas, you should bathe your dog with a shampoo to kill fleas and their eggs. You may have to rid your home of fleas and to avoid reinfestation occurs. Buy carpet spray or if the problem is too large, then you may need to call an exterminator. Once the fleas are gone, you should spray your dog every time the dog goes out. This will prevent any further attacks. If the dog has bitten or injured by scratching open, you have to wait to heal before using a spray or shampoo on your dog.
Vomiting can occur if your dog is allergic to food they receive. First, you should see your vet to see if the problem is internal. They may recommend a new food the dog. This should stop the vomiting and diarrhea.
Dogs that are allergic to their own hair and dandruff are the worst of all allergies, because little can be done. You must make sure your dog is ready to regularly brush your dog every day to remove excess hair and dander, and bathe your dog once a month. Your veterinarian may prescribe an antihistamine, if allergies persist.
