My dog just recently got hit by a car.. I hope I didn't post this twice?
I have a 4 year old German Shepard/Sheltie Mix that I love to death. Recently, my neighbors came over into our yard and the dog walked out and got bumped by a car. I took him to the vet and he needed surgery, he had shattered his pelvis and had a hernia. We also got him fixed at this time. He came home from the vet on Friday. Because of his shattered pelvis, he cannot walk and won't be able to for a long time. All he can do is just lay all day, he can't move at all, just picks his head up and looks at me sadly. I have him on a lot of padding on the floor, towels and blankets and a pillow to make sure he's comfortable. I have to change the top towels every time he goes to the bathroom, which is about 6 bowel movements a day. He is very sad and it is very very difficult to change his towels because I can't move him very much. I need a kennel with a tray on the bottom so he's not lying in his own waste. If anyone knows where I can buy one it would help! Thank you and God Bless! - Abby
Sorry to hear that your dog got hit by a car...so glad to hear that he lived even if he is feeling pretty rough right now...lucky pup! My family has lost 3 pets in the last 6 months and it is pretty hard to deal with...one was by car.
Back on topic...we got a kennel with a slide out try on the bottom from Wal-mart and I think it only cost $50-60. It has worked wonderfully. Just so you know it was for large dogs.
I hope your pup continues to get better...sounds like he has a good family taking care of him!
