My dog trainer give me the correct information walking belt?
I have a small dog 6 pounds I'm trying to fix their reaction other dogs for a walk. What she is doing is, will lunge and bark with hair standing on end. My coach along with many other tips suggested to me that walking is not your in a flexi (retractable) leash at all. What I've always done. I like to do to give some freedom to run, sniff and explore on his walks. So I did what my coach told me that it is only their walk with their 4 'leash and we're both going so hard on yourself. She is constantly pulling as they used to run and come to check things and I feel so bad that she has to stay a few steps away from me. What is the point of walking, if she can not get some exercise, both physically and mentally? I guess the thinking or the theory of trainers is whether we can NOT pull in the "belt 4, then do not throw of all. THOUGHTS?
Your coach is right. You must teach your dog to walk beside you ... not in front or behind. If your dog still attracts nejoy you can not walk, I recommend trying a training collar. For example, when they were out training Golden Retriever, she was the worst of its kind, and coach us said that we (do not remember what its called) but it is a metal collar points that jut into the dog's neck. They do not hurt the dog, unless it pulls very hard, and when damage is done only for a second and it is not enough to seriously hurt your dog (the dog does not bleed or anything like that). This worked very well! Our dog quickly learned to walk calmly next to us ... as within 2 weeks of practice. Although your dog is small, it can definitely handle a necklace as it. This necklace is not human, the dog only makes a slight pinching sensation when pulled, and this together with a firm "no" strip and back will teach to walk quietly. Good luck, hoipe this helped!
