My mom's dog is limping .. what could be the cause?
She is trying to keep it completely out, jumping around foot .. but when we get to know what areas are tender, she does not act like it hurts. We examined the legs and feet .. no cuts or scrapes, and nothing swollen. She is acting normal, well that even the desire to play in the yard, jumping on the furniture (which uses the leg wound), and up and down the stairs. Does she need to see a vet? It was about a day since it began. We have been trying to keep her in bed most of the day, and have been putting compresses Hot on it.
I would definitely take her to the vet. We had a boxer who was limping and we took her to the vet and he came to have cancer bone .... could also be hip dysplasia (if it is the hind leg) ... or it might just be tense muscles, but if it is cancer spreads very fast so it's better to know earlier than later ... but if it is a hind leg, I'm sure mild hip dysplasia.
