How to Make Homemade Bread Crumbs

Make your own homemade bread crumbs is easier than you think! It is a great way to use left on the slices of bread, dough for bread, hamburger and hot dog, potato bread, cookies and pretzels small but thin.

Required:

Food Dehydrator (I use one made by Ronco (tm), with 7 trays)
Blender or food processor
Big Bowl (I use a 32 cup bowl)
2 large bags gallon size freezer
1 Great Seal airtight container with

Bread products you need:

Bread, Rolls, Biscuits, Pretzels

Spices Needed:

Basil, oregano, parsley, rosemary, dill, season salt, Black pepper, dried minced green onion, salt garlic or garlic powder

Pre-Preparation

The first thing you have to do is get two big bags of one gallon zipping or recycle some their bags of bread. (I do not normally recommend the reuse of bags of bread, but in this case, it will work well).

Over the next few weeks or months, as you have leftover bread and rolls, place them in freezer bags and freeze. Once you have saved 2 bags full of bread products, you are ready to make your crumb of bread made at home.

Preparation:

Remove the frozen bags of bread from the freezer two hours before you are ready to begin so that they can thaw at room temperature.

Set the food dehydrator. Place bread slices in the dehydrator tray of food. If using rolls, split the top of the funds and put them down in the tray. If they are too large, feel free to rip into smaller parts. Place the lid on the unit and food dehydrator heat to a simmer. It will take 6-8 hours to its bread products to dry completely.

* * Note the best time to do it at night, then when you wake up in the morning, ready to become bread crumbs.

After 6-8 hours, you're ready to start making bread crumbs. Turn off and remove food dehydrator trays. You can use a blender or food processor to the next step. (I think a food processor works best).

Break the bread into smaller pieces and place the pieces in the food processor. Put the lid and use the court or a mixture of buttons. You have to run the processor food until their products are bread consistency of fine breadcrumbs. Once the food processor out.

Remove lid and add in your spices and herbs. It will be necessary that is seasoned to taste. " I like using about 1 tablespoon of each spice or herb. Place the cover and mix again for 30 seconds.

You need to save your new freshly dried breadcrumbs in an airtight container. You should keep in a cool, dry and dark, like inside a pantry or kitchen cupboard.

This is a great way to use up all of your leftover bread products without letting it go to waste. I like to use my bread crumbs in the homemade meatloaf, meatballs, for cover the fish and chicken.
