Ask about prescription drugs for dogs?
OK, I wondered about the calculations used for dosing information technology. My vet recently gave me a recipe I give my dog medication twice a day for two weeks. Now I know that one human year is equivalent to approximately 7 years for a dog. I wonder if this means that my dog should get 14 doses per day for 2 days to make things go well. The 2 days or less must be equal to 14 days human. Am I calculating this correctly?
Wonder is correct - the calculations would be placed in (more or less, as the calculation for the year of the dog is more complex than the simple multiplication of human years by 7) This is especially true if you have to pick up the meds for your dog in a human pharmacy. However calculations and logic are not the same thing, and what I have written here would be perfect (as I'm sure you know):] The golden rule is always follow your doctor (Or veterinary) instructions - but even then, a doctor or veterinarian is human and therefore not infallible. ..... So always check with your vet (or doctor) if you do not understand the instructions Rx (though I think so ....) =)
