Can a microchip to locate a dog if it is stolen?
I have a well and my friends tell me that is one of the best dogs stolen. I was thinking of getting a microchip the puppy next week and the chip is able to locate a stolen dog? I know it contains a unique identifier for her in case she is considered a shelter or something and they can scan and call the company to tell me that they have found the dog. But what if you actually really determined thieves came and stole the chip will help?
No, the chip is not a GPS tracking device. It only works if the dog is placed in a veterinarian's office or found by animal control or something.
