I think my dog has ADHD?
Hello, we have a rescue dog who got five months ago. The vet estimated to be about 2 years. We think is a Rottweiler / Labrador Cross though would not be surprised if there were some terrier in her as well as she is not so great, etc. Anyway it is the most loving dog forever. All she really wants is to play with toys and getting her belly tickled. We brought her to training classes and while commands like sit, stay, paw, down, etc improved (with minutes, she is very smart!) simply can not get her to walk properly in front. We have tried everything from candy to harnesses to changes in direction, the focus is on the walker, etc. She is just in another area when walking. No matter what she does and goes out to the front. Then when we meet people who are crazy, pulling, breathing hard, all he wants is to run over and say hello. Any advice?
I think when you say you've tried other avenues. I would not have believed before my dog (pictured), but she is totally unable to walk properly leash when outside. I have trained with treats, with the change of direction, stops, etc. I have trained to "heel" I've trained at home, and patio. Nothing got through the ball. She is still trying to fight it sometimes, but you're happy and positive and "Let's go!" and give more of herself soon. Walks have improved so much for her, one of the points and me.
