what would hapeen if my serpentine belt was too small?
I recently replaced the serpentine belt on my 91 toyoya corolla, ever since it has been running like a dog. I have no pick up at all and it squeeks horribly. I have an after market ac compressor so the size of the belt is not standard. We had to adjust the idler arm to make the new belt fit. Could the belt be too small, and if it were, would it make my car run bad???
If its squealing that either means it actually doesnt have enough tension (too big) or it was improperly installed and cant properly grip.
I would suggest first adjusting the tensioner to tighten it.
