Tips for Choosing a Dog Shampoo
Like the type of shampoo that people use may vary from person to person, the same applies to dogs. Why Why? Well, it's because dogs have different skin types just like human skin types differ. The dog may experience skin irritation because the human shampoo has a pH less than what the dog's skin needs.
So here are some steps to follow when choosing a dog shampoo that is appropriate for your beloved dog:
- Watch your dog's skin and try to determine your skin type. If you notice any peeling of the skin, then your dog probably has dry skin. This means that it is fair to say that its dog has oily skin, if you notice that there is some kind of waste of oil when you rub your fingers through your dog's skin or skin tends to become fat. It is good to separate skin and the oil may not be visible on the surface, especially in dogs with long hair. If none of these problems exist, then it is safe to say that your dog has normal skin. If you are unsure, it never fails to ask the vet.
- The shampoo you choose must be a completely natural shampoo that is specific to the type of skin your dog has. If most of the ingredients on the label is hard to pronounce, then there is an all natural shampoo. This means that it is chalk full of synthetic ingredients.
- If your dog has a problem with fleas and ticks, then a natural shampoo that all dogs is designed to eliminate fleas and ticks should be your choice. However, using a shampoo such means that it is important to prevent it from reaching the dog's eyes and mouth, because it can be harmful.
- If your dog scratches a lot, it's a good idea to consult with the vet because this could be indicative of a skin condition that may need other care. Some shampoos dog can irritate a skin condition. Do not discount the issue simply as dry skin. If the dog has a skin condition, a shampoo with Aloe Vera should make your puppy will feel better and no less. If the problem is more severe, a medicated shampoo may be needed.

Following these steps means that you can buy a dog shampoo that is specific to skin type of your dog. This shampoo should not irritate the skin. Just because a dog is an animal does not mean that the dog can tolerate chemicals because skin is into different types, regardless of the species.
