The dog lover?
My lover has four dogs and soon to be three cats. I went to live with him and the promise of going to live with him in his new home, just purchased. However, I do not like the dogs sleeping in bed. A small dog jumps on the bed every night. In the middle of the night I feel as if was sleeping in a mummy sleeping bag, because I am unable to move. The other night I grill steaks, and really could not enjoy food because dogs nose where April 4 inches away from my plate. The other day, where the dogs licking the utensil that I was using it to turn over the food, the barbecue pit. He loves animals! But I'm crazy or are these patterns of unacceptable behavior? Could use some advice, because I do not want to sleep or have sex in bed with the animals there. I tried talking to him, but he is so in love with their pets and becomes cold to the talks. What should I do?
There is a difference between being a lover animals and let their pets walk all over you. If you are going home to, have to agree on some reasonable rules. No dogs in bed. n allowing utinsils the dogs lick or plaques. When you're eating, the dogs have to stay away (this could mean tying them outside, or close them out of the room if can not maintain a reasonable distance .... let's say at least 3-5 feet). None of that is reasonable to ask. We never seem adequate training their dogs in the first place, but that's not your problem. It's stupid and rude for him to expect to put up with poorly trained, ill, bad behavior and pets without a peep. That said, if you may not even discuss this with him without him becoming "cold" that worries me more than pets. Good relationships, especially living in small, need good communication and a willingness to compromise. If you can not even talk about your pets with you in an adult and healthy, I would be cautious. Because he will not be able to discuss other issues of vital relationship either.
