How I can get my dog to stop jumping?
I have an 10 month old pitbull. We went to train with him as soon as we got it when I was 8 weeks old. He's big, and really obedient, and above all, loves all people and dogs. I go to the dog park with him every day. Recently, I started having two problems with it first, when we met at the dog park and is very excited, start jumping over people. It seems that he thinks all what you have in your hand is a toy or a treat. What makes a playful way, but you can imagine what most poeple think it is a pit bull jumps over them. He never, and still doesn't jump on me (I guess because he knows he is not allowed). Usually, when I catch men doing in the park that sit immediately and put him a timeout in minutes. But it doesn't really help. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this? And secondly, just go crazy about squirrels. This occurs when you are on a leash and I'm starting to have trouble keeping it. Any ideas? Thank you all!
When you approach another person, immediately make him sit. If you're going, tell him or not Uh Uh and have the person raise her knee jumping block.
