Most New Year's resolutions are to lose weight and get fit. Maintaining this kind of resolution usually involves joining a gym or fitness center. Unfortunately, due to the struggling economy, 2010 is shaping up as a year of cuts in expenditure additional. tight budget practices will likely result in a large number of people who can not afford the price of a gym membership. Fortunately, this does not mean you can not keep your 2010 resolution to get fit. There are several ways to get fit without breaking your budget.

1. You do not need to go to a gym to lose weight and tone your muscles. You can get fit by adding exercise to your daily routine. You can try to walk more, jogging and cycling. Also, if you have a dog, take it to a park every day a some exercise. Most experts suggest that people should walk 1-2 miles per day at an accelerated pace to stay healthy. Take the time to do some squats and push-ups daily. Use a strong tree limb to do some push-ups. In addition, you can do some stretching exercises during the commercials. When you are running errands, shopping, or going to the office, use stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. Make exercise your hobby and not a chore.
2. If you have extra money to put a small home gym, consider buying used equipment gym. There are many people looking to sell their treadmills, stationary exercise old bicycles and weights. Check your ads in local newspapers and online. You can usually get some really great deals on used exercise equipment.
