What is the easiest way to regrow grass dog urine?
I have a German Shepherd (male) and a pit bull (female) and a patio small! As a result, my lawn is dying at a rapid pace. Does anyone have any good advice in an easy, inexpensive way to keep my grass growing?
The acidity of the urine of dog (especially their female pit bull) is what makes the grass brown. You go to your local garden center and pick up a bag of 50 pounds of lime mineral. It is gray and not chemicals. Spread this in areas that are affected and water in. Repeat this process every week for approximately 4 weeks. The grass should begin to recover. This fall, you'll want to overseed your lawn. I recommend doing this after having the cell nucleus lawn. Core aeration loosens compacted soil, open the root zone moisture, air and nutrients and help to thicken the root zone. This will also an excellent seed bed when overseed immediately after aeration. As urine is dogs, try adding tomato juice to your meal dogs. Not only do dogs love, but will help reduce the acidity of urine and should help future browning lawn. Keep the coat of whitewash and spread each couple of weeks in the future in areas where dogs tend to use the lawn for most of their "jobs." Lime is relatively inexpensive and does not harm dogs in the least. Hope this helps!
