External Hard Drive Lost Connection?
Hello.
My dog pushed my 1 HDD and it fell on the floor, somehow bending the USB cable sideways. I opened up the Seagate Freeagent Desk and found out that two of the four links of the USB mini port and board are broken. Needless to say, I can't connect it to my computer. I think that simply by melting the links again I can fix it, but there is also an opinion that the problem with the lost connection is not in the broken links at all. Please, do help me!

You can try the repair but when the PC board cracks, that is usually an indication that the HD also sustained damage. Those hard drives are like glass and when they hit the floor they shatter. I know because I dropped mine on the kitchen tile. It simply will not boot up and I've lost all of my addresses, most of my pictures and some rare songs I like. I hope you have better luck than me.
