Remedies for motion sickness in dogs

Motion Sickness: -

Dizziness is not something that is only seen in animals. It is a common phenomenon observed even in humans. You may have encountered in their long distance journey on a bus, a flight or even a train is with a feeling of vomiting. A dog suffers from motion sickness when the signals that are sent to the "side-reticular-formation-vomiting-center" by the "chemoreceptor trigger zone" in the brain are more than the normal signals. This triggers the vomiting sensation is one of the main symptoms of this disease in dogs.

Remedies to prevent the disease: -

The most common symptoms of the disease movement in dogs is drooling (salivation), and vomiting. Domestic animals also could be affected by severe diarrhea and nausea feel. There are other symptoms. The best way to prevent this is by conditioning the dog to become accustomed to frequent travel and long distance. You can start with travel short to your nearest grocery store or at the local convenience store and gradually increase the distance traveled. During the course of travel, make sure the pet is allowed to see outside the vehicle and has sufficient space to move the vehicle. Also make sure that the ventilation and temperature the car is well maintained. Take short breaks every 1-2 hours may also help to reduce or deny the effect of motion sickness in dogs.

Treatment: -
