Can a pure labrador retriever watch the house?
I want a dog that can see the house and bark if strangers approach or try to invade. A farmer do the job as a family pet and watchdog? I heard some dogs lick all strangers, even those intruders and thieves ... Yes I want a barking dog alarms me, but do not bite! Do not bite, do not want any liablities crazy!
Of course it will, they are big dogs. You can train any dog to do that, but the lab is a great choice for a family dog.
