Tesla is a hard rock band formed in Sacramento, California in 1984 and has sold over 16 million albums in the United States from 2008.
Background
Formation and mechanical resonance (1984-1988)
The band was formed in 1984 in the city of Sacramento Kidd, and was renamed Tesla during the recording of their first album in 1986 of the mechanical resonance, on the advice of his manager that City Kidd was not a big name. The band derives its name, the album and some song titles and some song content from events relating to Nikola Tesla, an inventor and electrical engineer born in the 19th century.
group's original lineup consisted of vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarists Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch, bassist Brian Wheat and drummer Troy Luccketta.
Tesla music is often referred to as heavy metal, but it is better described [by whom?] As hard rock with a touch of blues. The lyrics of the group also departed from the popular heavy metal issues, particularly in the 1980s at the beginning of his career. Another distinction of his contemporaries was his shirt and pants cowboy image, which was in strong contrast to Glam Metal bands of the era, which were characterized by big hair, leather pants and flashy makeup. Also in the early days of his career, Tesla toured with David Lee Roth, Def Leppard, and Poison, which resulted in the incorrect band characterization of a glam metal band. The band members resented this label. Tesla has always been proud that his music has always been just guitars and drums, and an occasional piano from guitarist Hannon and / or bassist Wheat and occasional organ from Hannon, with no synthesizers or anything to distort their sound. Their albums always proudly proclaimed: "No Machines" Referring to this fact. The 2004 album band, in the now, seems to include synthesized beats. but in reality it is not. Drummer Troy Luccketta intelligently designed your battery to make it sound like synthesized beats, as seen in section 2008 live DVD Cuminatcha up of Troy.
The conflict in the Great Radio and Psychotic Supper (1989-1993)
It was three years before the band released their second album, The Great Radio Controversy. The album helped solidify the growing reputation of the band and fans. The album produced the hit single "Love Song."
In 1990, Tesla released Five Man Acoustic Jam, a live album with acoustic renditions hits such as "Cumin Atcha Live", "Best Gettin '," Modern Day Cowboy "and" Love Song. " The album also includes a series of mostly covers a version of "Signs", up to 1971 reached by the Five Man Electrical Band.
In 1991 the band released their third album Psychotic Supper study. The band believe that this is their best album according to his official site. The 1998 Japanese reissue import of Psychotic Supper contains three new songs, including "Rock the Nation", which is not superstitious, "and" Run Run Run. "
Bust a Nut and hiatus (1994-1999)
In 1994 the band released their fourth studio album Bust a Nut. The 1998 Japanese import reissue of a bust nut contains unpublished cover of "Led Zeppelin The Ocean. "
After the release of Bust a Nut, the band took a break to support Skeoch during his struggle with substance abuse. However, it was not long time before Skeoch briefly joined the Marshall Coleman solo band to support his solo career, only to see a departure from Marshall soon after. This band eventually was transformed to include Jeff Keith and resurfaced as Bar 7 with a single "four-leaf clover" from the album The World is a Freak. Brian Wheat formed Soul Engine and Frank Hannon Moon Dog Mane, while Troy Luccketta worked with several local artists, including a penny Delgado Bay Area.
Reunion (2000-present)
After a hiatus of six years, the band reunited in 2000 and recorded the double live album Live Replugged. In 2002 he appeared at the Rock Never Stops Tour 1980 other side ...
