how to avoid scammers who want “buy” from me?
I am going to start a business selling homemade pet treats and pet supplies. I would like to learn how to avoid fraudsters who would want “buy” from me. I know from selling Avon when I was in college that these scammers will buy hundreds or even thousands dollars worth of stuff and send you a fake check.
I decided to avoid this, buy instisting that people buying online use a credit card and not sending them products unless a payment has been received.
Small business owners how to avoid scams online and in person? Also when I go to set up my website what are some safety things to avoid getting scammed or hacked?
I agree – either accept Paypal and ONLY ship the item once the money is in your account. Then be sure to send it with a tracking number for proof of delivery. And set up a merchant account to accept credit cards
There are always going to be scammers paying with hacked paypal accounts, filing chargebacks saying they didn’t get what was on the invoice, stolen credit cards, etc. Even major online retailers have to deal with this
