In case of any area of this old city evoke images of several of the 60, this area has to be the do so. Here the principle of hippy culture was growing by leaps and bounds as the flower children were selling their wares on the street with heavy traffic, could smell incense burning on every corner and in the wild tie dyed clothing that was so popular at that time.
A walk around the block revealed smoke shops and many points of Eastern influence, carrying names such as "Dreams of Kathmandu," "The Love of Ganesha" and "Pipe Dreams." Unfortunately, these relics of the 60 are almost forgotten and left the scene forever. Haight district of today presents a complete new look compared to that was 50 years ago.
