Please remember to Pet Food foul play in the hands of Pet Food Manufacturers?
In the last couple of years, owners of dogs and cats alike have had reason to be concerned about the welfare of their pets on the basis of many pet food recalls that have occurred. All pet owners I really heavily on these commercial companies to produce healthy food for their animals and are now very concerned about the fact that dogs (and cats) have died bad ingredients in different foods. Many dogs have become very ill and many have died as a result.
In March 2007, a Canadian company called Menu Foods announced a recall involving more than 90 different "cuts and gravy" varieties of wet cat and dog foods, which made a big splash among pet owners across North America. There were 14 deaths recorded at the time of announcing the recall and the speculation was that the total Real could have been twice that many. Moreover, after the announcement of the death toll, some 20 different varieties are also recalled.
The culprit of death was found that wheat gluten had been contaminated with rat poison, and was later discovered that pig's ear of some dogs is were infected with Salmonella. This was the reason behind the withdrawal of two different brands of this type of question. Suffice it to say, death of pet animals to bad ingredients in pet food and snacks not only cause for alarm, but something drastic has to happen for this to not happen again.
Toxic pet food recalls date back to December 2005, when crushed food manufactured by Diamond Pet Foods were recalled because of an outbreak of deaths of dogs. Dozens of other dogs became seriously ill as well. These deaths and illnesses that occurred as a result of this toxin in food several dogs and snacks. Aflatoxin is a hazardous chemical that occurs naturally in certain fungi found in a variety of food crops such as beans, maize, rice and wheat.
In addition, aflatoxin is also dangerous (and sometimes lethal) where animals, humans, and livestock is concerned. Salmonella Recalls participation have led to numerous recalls was announced during the last decade. So the question has arisen recently. "If pet food manufacturers foul play? Since most pet owners are very aware and only want the best for their animals, is very suspicious that a lot of people who have an outbreak of this disease.
Taking into account the circumstances and the results in hand, has led to another question - "Are these the pet food manufacturers guilty of breaking any law in particular?" There are a number of owners of pets that would undoubtedly answer with a resounding "YES!" As manufactured food products for human consumption, the Administration Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also requires quality assurance standards and conditions which produce pet food. The FDA has mandated that all food Pet proceed as follows:
• the accurate labeling
• Can not contain harmful ingredients or doubtful
• manufactured or processed in an environment free of bacteria and health
• must be safe for consumption by all pets
Despite the fact that all manufacturers pet food and processors must comply with these regulations, it is regrettable that the FDA, under the limited public resources can only investigate a company when reports of death and disease arise and are convinced that food represents a serious health threat to pets. It is unfortunate that this is the only when the withdrawal is issued when death and disease should never have happened in the first place.
