What else I can do for advertising?
I'm starting out small business - selling home made pet food. Me as in brochures, advertisements on ebay and stall. I even spread the word among friends, but it's just family / friends who are buying. What more I can do? I have emailed a few companies that offer pet rescue to help feed a dog and supply of bed linen etc. if I can help spread the word to your clients and customers, but they did not respond. Am I not doing enough?
Do you have a website or blog. Even if your business is strictly local to which they can still benefit from having a website. For one thing you can show your pet food and can be displayed in the results local search. Did you send a press release announcing your new business? Sending press releases is a great way to get free publicity for your product. Remember Me proved that offers samples of their products for pets? Is it possible or is willing to ship their products nationally or internationally? My suggestion would be to set up a blog (if you have one) and optimize it for search engines. Then write a short report (perhaps the benefits of homemade food for pets or something related to what they are selling) and offer it to people who visit your blog in exchange for their email address. You can then send weekly tips, coupons, special offers and let them know when new products. You can print the web site address in your flyers, etc. and also include in their advertising printed. Setting the blog is easy, the hardest thing will be to get people to visit your blog. You will have to do some research to see what people are using key words to find similar products, like yours. You can use the Google tool free keyword (https: / / adwords.google.com / select / KeywordToolExternal). This may sound like hard work but once the ball rolling you can do very well.
