With so many options available in supermarkets, there is growing concern so the best dog food. Dog owners want to find a healthy option as well as save money on dog food. You can spend lot of time researching the best deals, but do you ever think about what the rules are to be sold in this country?
Like anything else, are regulated by the legislation in most countries around the world. For example, in U.S. all manufacturers must comply with the regulations of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. The American Association of Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) is careful to control the manufacturing standards, including the ingredients that go into all the brands. In the United Kingdom and some European countries, the Federation of the Pet Food Industry (FEDIAF) regulates all food for pets. This includes guidelines the food processing, labeling and advertising.
While the ingredients are monitored, this does not mean that what is sold in the U.S. is controlled specifically in its nutritional value to our beloved pets. In fact, many manufacturers are even able to add chemicals to the food known to contribute negatively to the health of an animal. Not only that, but the different ages of the animals adapt to different types of food. Advertising campaigns major food manufacturers can manage their dog's age wrong, which means your pet can not be getting the nutrition it really needs.
Veterinary Research shows that many pet food ingredients, both in the U.S. and Europe, can be harmful to animals and demand stronger standards to control the inclusion of additives. Until this is regulated, what can you do to ensure the health of your dog and make sure that what you feed it what you need?
When buying them, always make sure to read the label carefully. This will include a list of ingredients, where the food ingredients upper display. If you notice that the cereal is the top of the list, this means that what you are buying is composed mainly of ground cereals that are great for their nutritional value. You may also notice various chemicals in the ingredient list, so be careful if there is a large amount or do research on the effects of these chemicals.
You can also do some research online, reading about the development and manufacture of their favorite brands. Consider whether others have been tested on animals, what were the results and read the safety tips for your dog.
Once you have carefully checked information available, you can also ask your vet any specific questions that you still are not sure. Those that may have some time is very important to ensure that your pet live healthily for many years as possible. Be diligent when it comes to buying food for dogs and soon learn what is best for your pet.
