How to Train Your Puppy Cage
From personal experience I recommend crate training a puppy. It does the job of housetraining and ensure that the puppy much easier for both puppies and household members. If you talk to dog owners who chose to train your dog cage, then it would be difficult to find one that does not recommend this technique!
Why train cage?
The first time I saw a cage of dog you may have to do like looking a bit like the "prison" a puppy? For those who have never used the mixture of the cables and confined space may seem almost cruel. The good news is that your dog does not look like that!
Properly introduced to its cage your dog will see it as their private den where you can escape a some peace and quiet. I lost count of the times I've found Harley lying, playing and sleeping in his crate without any compulsion to enter it. This is the result which is trying to accomplish and I will give advice on "how to" section.
My main concern when Harley was bought home train him. Throughout the day was not too difficult, and that could take place every two hours. However, the nights were a different story! Before me buying a cage often found Harley in the morning has been relieved on the ground and chew some of the furniture. Something had to change!
I was introduced to the cages of dogs by a friend and have never looked back since. Did the job of house training much easier to Harley. Within a couple of months ago, Harley was trained sleeping in his cage at night and "accidents" stopped completely. I could finally sleep in peace!
Hopefully the above will suffice to convince (if needed!) that the cage training your puppy is the way forward. Now let's consider how to introduce your dog to its cage to feel comfortable still there.
Initial considerations
Needless to say there is no 'perfect' form of training cage to their puppy. There are numerous online articles on this subject, each of them will say something different. All I can say is that I tried all the techniques I recommend and it worked for me. As a dog owner who can give these the thumbs up!
The first thing you do is buy the correct size cage. There are two things to consider when doing this. The first is that you need a cage that is large enough for your dog to stand and turn around in. We also we need a little extra space to lie down. Anything smaller than I would regard as cruel, but beware of buying a cage that is too large. We'll get to why this should be avoided later in the article.
If you do not buy a dog cage then I would make a recommendation. I made the mistake of buying a small dog cage for Harley when he was a puppy and then another for adult size of less than nine months later. In the future I would like buy an adult size cage for the dog and buy a divider panel that fits inside the cage. These allow you to divide the cage into sections and increased interior space and its puppy grows. This will save you money!
Now you have your cage there take other steps before introducing your dog to it. The cage must be placed in a cool location out of direct sunlight and temperature extremes. I have a blanket placed over the top and sides of my dog cage. This not only provides Harley shade, but also has the advantage of private cage for him. Taking these steps ensures that your dog is comfortable and most importantly, safe when he finally left alone in the cage for a couple of hours.
When you've decided where to place the cage should be placed a blanket inside to make it more comfortable so that his dog was in. Now comes the important part ... .. get your dog to willingly go into the cage. You need to make your dog begins to feel comfortable being inside the cage and begins to see the cage as its own private space. The best way I found to get Harley to do was to feed him his meals in the box and close the interior. Once that was done I would leave the door closed for a period before opening again.
Decide the time to close the door on something that you will be taken into account. I would recommend closing the door for five minutes to start and then increase the duration of this for one minute each day. Will eventually leave your dog there for an extended period of time without causing him anxiety. Make sure there are visible when the dog is initially confined in the cage as the idea is to make them feel comfortable inside without you being around. At first, the dog may complain when you're in the cage, but I thought it was better to ignore this unless Harley sounded like I was in grave danger, and then I would have left out. Fortunately, Harley did not show signs of stress, so I never had to resort for him early release.
Placing the safety of toys (which can not be destroyed or swallowed) and is inside the dog cage also encourage your dog to use.

Sleeping through the night
I do not recommend sleeping with your dog at night in the cage during the first month at least. It is necessary give the dog time to adjust to their new home and it would be counterproductive for him around here before it is comfortable when your dog is ready to sleep for night in the cage and then a couple of methods to try.;
Method one dog would sleep in the cage where it is placed normally. And while the dog may complain initially should subside in a couple of minutes. This is the approach we did with Harley and it worked.
I have taken this second approach Harley had made a fuss over a sustained period of time. When the dog is taking a break from his whining (I do not know that it is to draw attention!) I shake the cage in the bedroom and the dog sleep as you can see his master asleep. This should calm the dogs. Then move the cage one foot at night to door until it is out of the room. When the dog has finally learned to sleep through the night in the cage should then be safe to move the frame again in the desired location.
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the cage of the dog is an invaluable tool in training your puppy. As an instinct Dogs naturally do not like to soil their homes as a dog cage to try to contain the toilet until they release him. A young pup obviously wakes up a couple of times during the night, as they are unable to control themselves, as well as an older dog. However, if it comes to choosing between a couple of trips the garden at night or having to clean dog mess in the morning I know which option I would choose! It is important that the cage is not too big for your puppy. If so, it is possible that the puppy chooses a corner where the floor while the rest of the cage disturbed. For this reason I recommend the use of a cage divider as mentioned above.
Once your dog is sleeping at night in his cage, it is important to place a bowl of water inside. This can be done placing the bowl on the floor of the cage or, if your dog is prone to knock there are dishes that you can buy that screw into the sides of the cage. This is particularly important during the summer months, dogs sweat through the mouth and the need for water to cool.

Precautions
Never leave a dog alone in the cage for long periods without testing. When feel the dog is ready, has a couple of test runs to leave the cage for the desired time without leaving the house (despite trying to make it sound like you're gone!). This allows you to see if your dog can be left alone in the cage without experiencing any stress. It's always good to be around the principle that if there is any problem need to be addressed.
Your dog should never be left in its cage for too long, and you can start to fret. Harley spends up to eight hours his cage, which has had fifteen months of training. I never would leave more time spent at the cage and not even that long when he was a puppy. It is a gradual process and, if follow your instinct, everything should be fine!
And one last point, never use the crate as a punishment for your dog clear. You want your dog to enjoy being there so if you start having a negative impression of the cage, then this will not happen. Has been the temptation to put Harley there when they've been bad, but at general refuse. If necessary out of the way to find the best approach is to stay calm and ask him to go to bed (ie cage). Follow my command without being aware that's really a shame!
Entered correctly, your dog will learn to love her cage, and often make their own way there, a dream. For this reason, I left the cage door open at all times during the day so that your puppy can enter at any time.
